Default Noobie with few questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm new to BB and PDAs and so far love the 8830. Today, however, I noticed loss of connectivity and it showed 1x on the top right corner. I couldn't fix it until I rebooted it by removing the battery. Then it was 1XEV again. Can anyone explain why it happened or whether this is something that is going to be a common occurrence. I didn't do anything differently as far as I know. Is there another way to correct it if it happens again.

Also, has anyone able to tether with it? I get a 678 error code. thanks, bill

Don't know what caused it. Often you can reset it simply by turning the wireless radio off and back on.

You know the first hour my phone did the disconnect thing but after I did a restart (pull battery) its been fine every since. I am thinking it was just a set up thing since it went dead after I activated it when trying to get on the internet.

Default Noobie here too

Hi everyone, I just got my 8830 about a week ago. Anyway, yesterday it stopped pulling in emails from all of my accounts. I went back and deleted them all on the BIS, and they work fine again now. I don't think I did anything to cause it, and was wondering if this is a freak happening, or a common occurrence. It really wasn't too big a deal, as I set them back up in just a few minutes.

dewman, I had the exact same problem yesterday. Strange. What email account? I was using a gmail account on BIS. I stopped getting mail on my bberry entirely. The first time it had ever happened. I had gmail set up for about 30 days and that has never happened.

Dew and gibber, sometimes a simple battery will fix that glitch, and no, it is not common, but it happens, yes. This morning (with my 8800 on AT&T) I thought the AT&T EDGE network was down (my TMo 8700 had EDGE and receiving mail, etc.) so I pulled the battery on the 8800 and rebooted, 60 seconds later, email all piling in and the network indicator was back on EDGE.

Just do "ALT,CAP,DEL" and it will do a reboot, when it boots back up you should have 1XEV again.
