Default newbie needs advice/info desperately!!!

Hi everybody,
I was so excited to find this forum...
see I've spent at least 8 hours on the phone with t-mobile support trying to get the answer to the following question regarding my 7100t...

Why do I get an error 633(or 634) telling me the port or modem is in use by another app. every time I restart my computer. I have desktop mgr 4.0, I have everything installed correctly, I get support techs to walk me through reinitializing etc. and it'll work fine for that session. In fact i'm using my blackberry now as a modem..But as soon as I dissconnect and restart my laptop, it will no longer be functional.
On tech said it had something to do with Windows XP home, plug n' play and recognition of phone as modem via usb port...but he couldn't tell me what to do about it...
any thought would be greatly, apreciated!

What other apps are you running on the laptop? Sometimes this error comes from conflicts with other sync software like Hotsync and Activesync. See also:
