Default Wet 8830 Oh! %$^

Please Login to Remove!

Took the kids to Busch Gardens today. We went on the water Rapids ride and my phone got slightly wet. Wet enough for it to not work. But honestly it was not that wet. Anyway, The BB starts to boot up, then I see the Verizon starts screen and then my home screen for a split second, then it goes black. Is there anything i can do?

Also if I bring it in for repair are there indicators that show the BB got wet? Where are they?

Maybe this will be of some help:
Got Your BlackBerry Wet? - BlackBerryFAQ

Yes, there is an indicator that will show that the device suffered water damage.
One such indicator is a small white sticker under the battery.
It will turn pink/red when it gets wet.

If you are talking about a little white square, it is still white.

It doesn't take much either. A buddy of mine triggered his indicators by going from an air conditioned car, outside into the humid air. And once that happens, the carrier will absolutely not fix it under the terms of insurance (if you have it)

Yes, that's what I'm talking about.
There may be more, internally. I'm not sure.

Well if it is still white, Then Verizon would repair it right? The Battery is white with a red strip going through it.

There are two indicators on the phone itself as well, one in a visible location somewhere in the battery slot, the other is internal.

They can stil ltell if its been liquid damage even if the litmus paper is white. The one we see is just there to let the dealers know right away if it has been water damage.

I believe Verizon's insurance covers water damage now - I don't know about other carriers, though.
