Default Strong Magnet on Horizontal Case

Please Login to Remove!

What's up everyone. I recently heard from a Curve owner that a generic case I bought could destroy my 8830 because of it's strong magnet. He says he had the same case, or almost the same, with the magnet on the flap and it cause his curved to do some funky stuff and eventually, it stopped working right.

Anyone have any input on this? Is this true?

Default

All BB cases have magnets in them the BB uses to turn off screen and lighting when holstered. It also does other things like hang up the phone, etc. There are magnetic sensors in the phone that work with it this way by design. If the case was made by a reputable BB case maker then I wouldn't think it would have a negative effect on the device.
