Sprint 8830 = No BBery Messenger icon?
 

Hey all,

I had a 7520 and backed it up when I got my new Sprint 8830. I restored it, and everything came up. For some reason though, messenger texts wouldn't go through. I assumed this was due to it still being attached to my old PIN or something. So I deleted it, and downloaded the 8830 from blackberry.com/messenger

Now, it says it's there, I verified it with my desktop manager and it says it's there, but... there's no icon. I've clicked "View All" and done everything I can think of, and it's just not there. I re-downloaded, rebooted, still nothing. Any ideas?

Do you have any folders? If so, have you checked in them?

Re-provision the service books?

Not in any folders, and I checked the provisioning and resent it... still nada

two hours on with tech support and still nada

Try seeing if you can assign it to the convenience key, if it is listed then it should be there? Just a thought.

In the list for the key, it's not listed. So that's a problem...

If it is in applications, delete it.

Then go to mobile.blackberry.com and there is link there.

Are you positive you have a data plan?

I have unlimited data. I'm able to use browser, e-mail, SMS, etc... no problem.

The mobile.blackberry.com link takes me to the same place as www.blackberry.com/messenger/
