Default Downloading Ringtones

Can someone tell me what file format BB 8830 uses for ringtones? I have a web based site that converts a song into a number of different file formats and then another site that will upload it to my BB (or cell), but then my BB says it can't/doesn't recognize the file format. I used to use this with my old cell phone (Samsung A900) and it used .acc format. I would assume that my BB would use .mp3 or something.

I believe the BlackBerry can do at least .wav and .mp3 files. There may be others, but those two are probably the most popular.

I suppose I could just transfer the .mp3 directly when connecting my BB to my PC...couldn't I?

yes, either to device memory or microSD card.

mp3 will work as well as wav as ringtones. I have both on my BB.
