guys i have a bb 8700g recently it fell ( i know ,ouch) and now when i put it on, the screen just shows an icon with a circle around it and 507 below it... what do i do?

That means your device doesn't have an operating system. You can use the link in my signature to download a new OS for it. You'll also need Desktop Manager installed on a PC in order to install it.

Good luck.

thanks man, i'll post any problems i encounter......when i finish dwnloading wht do i do from there ..

You have to download install both the correct OS for your device and the latest version of Desktop Manager.

Connect your BB to your PC, start Destkop Manager, click on the Application Loader icon w/in the DM, and it should prompt you to install the OS.

juwaack68 08-15-2007 07:45 PM

I think that should work with the 7130....

kristophe 08-15-2007 07:48 PM

my 7130g is working just fine, it's the 8700g that i trying to fix.

juwaack68 08-15-2007 07:52 PM

oh, sorry, saw the 7130 in your signature and forgot we were talking about the 8700. I'm not sure if DM 4.1 will work for the 8700g. You can try it, but if it doesn't recognize your device when you connect it to your PC, then you'll need to upgrade.

kristophe 08-15-2007 08:10 PM

i've dwnloaded the os, do i run it on my pc? and then open um dm?

juwaack68 08-15-2007 08:12 PM

Yes, double click the OS file on your PC to install it (just a few wizard screens). Then open DM and launch Application loader.

kristophe 08-15-2007 08:29 PM

thanks man
if i need to upgrade my dm...where can i do so?

juwaack68 08-15-2007 08:33 PM

Go here:

Download v4.2 SP2, without Media Manager (won't need it for the 8700 and the file without it is MUCH smaller).

kristophe 08-15-2007 08:42 PM

THANKS MAN, you've been a great help.

juwaack68 08-15-2007 08:43 PM

again i am sorry for the mistake.

JSanders 08-15-2007 11:19 PM

kristophe, yes the 8700 should charge when connected to a USB port on your computer to which Desktop Manager has been load.

John Clark 08-16-2007 12:03 AM

You may need the latest Desktop Manager to charge the 8700.
