Couple questions!

I was wondering,

Whats the advantage in having the new firmware? Is it ok if I just leave it as it is? Mines currently at 4.1 and I need to use JiveTalk. Will it still be available?

Also, whats the best way to maximize the battery life?

New firmware allows for new features, and also may correct problems. JiveTalk would be available for you should you upgrade. However, if everything is working fine for you, you don't need to upgrade.
