I have the same problem with a 7100 ... I set up filters for all my contacts, but when I try and access them, it shows 'no addresses' However, they are all listed in the 'un-filtered' version of the address book. A re-sort will fix the problem until the next time ...
Vodafone and RIM have no idea ... any clues?
