Default Comparison of 7100 to 7290

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone done a comparison of features, screen quality, etc between these two new devices?

I can get a great deal on the Cingular 7290 (since I'm on Cingular already) but getting a 7100 will be a bit more difficult but I'll go for it if it is significantly better.

I'm planning the switch from my current Handspring Treo600 to the BB.

Hard to say really. I think the 7290 will be a real killer in all honesty. My only real gripes about it would be a lack of OBEX via Bluetooth.

Some people will complain about the display unless they did a reflective one. In that case I'd probably complain it wasn't bright enough indoors.

Can't please everyone I guess.

I have a 7230 and a 7100t. They are both great devices! I prefer the 7230 and I am looking forward to seeing the 7290. I consider a Blackberry to be a business tool. As a result, email, integrated phone, contact management, battery life, storage capacity, display quality and signal reception is what I consider important.

SureType is a personal choice. I prefer the full keyboard on the 7230. However, SureType is really very good once you get use to it.

7100t Pros:

- Nice display for indoor use.

- Twice the memory

- Speaker Phone

- Dedicated "Talk" and "End" Keys

- Bluetooth

- Enhanced attachment viewing.

- T-Mobile is very customer service oriented.

7100t Cons:

- Display is not great in direct sunlight

- I have signal strength problems with the 7100t in the Washington DC Area. I have not heard anyone else complain about this so far. You may not have this problem in your area.

- Battery Life ??? ( Still undecided - need more time with the device)

I guess my real question is, are the features of the 7100 and 7290 the same or similar and is the only difference the form factor?

I recomend you post new threads instead of using old ones . Anyway, you can't transfer images or songs via bluetooth to your 7100g.

Check the Ringtones, Themes and Wallpaper Discussion forum, there's a post about how to transfer images to your 7100.

You woke up a two year old thread and posted a new question to it...

As the previous poster said, you can't do it.
