OK..so it's been fun, but I'm outta here. As much as I love my 8800, it just doesnt' fit the bill for what I do for a living...I just need more of a workhorse when it comes to MS-Office, etc. So, I have ordered an AT&T 8525 and will be going back to the dreaded Windows Mobile. Wish me luck! I will still be around here, just not as an official BB owner.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Stay in touch.

I tried carrying word and pdf on a PPC, granted it was 3+ years ago, and it didn't work out. Well, it was ok for very small docs, and I mean letters and such. No good at all for anything like a small report or larger. Was better off carrying hard copies. Don't know if that is what you mean in your case, but good luck just the same.

Make sure you insure the thing with your homeowners policy, the device doesnt hold up very well. My daughter has been through 4 in six months. The screen keeps going out on it. Its also fried three sim cards.

Some people think a BlackBerry or their PDA/mobile phone should perform like laptops. These devices are not laptops!

Volkswagons have engines and tires, but they don't haul pulpwood! You can try to do it, but you will be very disappointed!

Better off buying a small under 4 lb laptop. The PPC's arnt great at all. I had the ppc 6800 and it was the worst phone I have used not to mention cheap feeling. It didnt handle much of anything that great, same with my treo. Both of them would crash. I have just gotten into the habit of hauling around my laptop with me and at least I know I have my BB to get the internet on my laptop.

I have to say that my OQO O2 really works for about everything.
I still keep, use, and love my Blackberry, but when i need something more powerful, the OQO is the best.

I am a born again BB user, i converted over form the Plam side which I have been on for over 10 years. I love the BB i don't think I will ever go back to the endless resets, slow phone interface, and tons of apps to make it work like a bb.

I agree with one of the above posters and you need to get a small laptop. They are cheap and will get the job done.

Forcing a handheld device into word processing and spreadsheets is simply horrible! I know as I have tried it. Forget the Sony UX as the screen is still too small and the keyboard is one of the worst I have owned. Tablet PCs are a little better but input on a tablet PC sucks

MS need to get voice command computing up and running for any of these small devices to be worth doing Windows programs on. Until then I will be happy with what my BB was designed for as it does it so well and carry the laptop where I need it.
