I just got my hands on a 7100t, but without the holster. I found a generic holster for the 7100t on eBay, but it doesn't have the magnet built in to enable "in holster" functions. A few google searches yielded no results; can anyone point me to the model of holster I need to get the benefits of "in holster".

Mostly what I'm looking for is a plastic holster with swivel. Did the 7100 series ever have a plastic holster with "in holster" ability?

Just curious... I have the one referred to in the link:

But it doesn't work right. It seems that the magnet is in the wrong place and my phone doesn't go into sleep mode. Anyone else have this holster and have the same problem? I wound up gluing a magnet on the back of the holster right at the bottom of the clip to make it work.

Never tried that one when I had a 7100

I've complained to the company about this; jcrossno, can you show us where you glued the magnet?

I may just ask for a refund. Why would they sell a product that doesn't work?

I placed a rather large magnet (puchased at Wal-Mart) right at the bottom of the clip and offset to the right about a half an inch, maybe a bit less. I'll be happy to take a picture and sent it to you if you like. Oh, the place I bought it from gave me an RMA saying they agreedit was a manufacturer defect and would send me another when they got them in. Well, in the meantime I'd glued the magnet on so that ruined the warranty bit for the return, so I kept it.

Got an idea how the sleeper magnet works in the device? Will it have eventual effect in your phone since the device backlight will be be turning off and on everytime you slide it in and out of the holster? Thank you....

There is no eventual effect on the BB. I have lots of friends/coworkers still using 7100t's and they all work great. They are having a hard time killing them, in fact. The magnet for "sleep" funtion works great.
