There is a firmware update that is supposed to go from 4.0.0.219 to 4.0.0.279. the name of the upgrade is:
7100E_PBr4[1].0.0_rel274_PL1.8.0.129_A4.0.0.219-CNG.exe
and I have run it, and still I am at 219

Has anyone got to 279 yet...am I using the wrong file from blackberry?

When I went to .274, I had the same problem. The explanation is at

Locate and delete "Vendor.XML" on your local C: drive, then restart Desktop Manager. It should now compare the BlackBerry (running 274) and the downloaded version (279) and attempt to upgrade.

I just went to the Cingular BB website and the latest version for the 7100g is 274. Where did you find the 279 upgrade.

For the record, the 274 package installs 4.0.0.219 of the application and contains software package 1.8.0.129. It does not install 4.0.0.274. I know this is confusing and doesn't make sense, but I'm just the messenger.
