When I went to .274, I had the same problem. The explanation is at

desktop manager says "no system software"

Anyone out there know if it's worthwhile goinf from .274 to .279?

Locate and delete "Vendor.XML" on your local C: drive, then restart Desktop Manager. It should now compare the BlackBerry (running 274) and the downloaded version (279) and attempt to upgrade.

Default 279?

I just went to the Cingular BB website and the latest version for the 7100g is 274. Where did you find the 279 upgrade.

For the record, the 274 package installs of the application and contains software package It does not install I know this is confusing and doesn't make sense, but I'm just the messenger.
