Default Hello - and a question

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself - I'm Lee from the UK, just purchased my first BlackBerry device, a 7130G on Orange.

Pleased with it so far, and had a good read of the forums to find out any potential pitfalls etc.

I do have one problem - and I hoped someone on hear might be kind enough to help me out.

The blackberry doesn't always show the person who's calling's name from my address book. For example, the same person rang me today from the same number 3 times. Twice, it just showed the number. The 3rd, it showed the name and number as picked up from my contacts.

Is there a known problem with this, or a setting I can change?

Wierdness I would say. Don't know why that is. Also when you post, you might get a quicker response with a more descriptive title.

Was the BB locked when the first two calls came in? If so, it's a content protection issue. Disable content protection in Options >Security Options >General Settings.

I can't remember whether the BB was locked or not - however what you said makes perfect sense so I changed the option today and it all worked perfectly.

Guess you hit the nail on the head - thanks both of you for your replies!

I've seen that happen when the BB was in a poor coverage area. I think the caller-ID info got sent after the phone started ringing and it was past the point where the blackberry was checking numbers.
