Default Messenger - Group send Question

Please Login to Remove!

All,
Our company fleet just received the new 8703e. I have the current BB Messenger SW and OS. I am new to using the BB Messenger. I have added contacts, started/ended conversations, and added a group. What I want to do is add some contacts into the group and have everyone get the same message without starting a conversation with everyone in the group.

Is this done by selecting just one of the contacts in the Group or am I missing the whole point of this?

Any help appreciated.

You have to invite the contacts into the conversation. If you are wanting to send everyone just one message then it's probably best to create a group in your address book and then send the group a simple pin message.

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, I have to invite each member to be part of the group. Then, if I need to message them all, I would have to start a conversation with each of them seperately? So, is the group is just an organization thing?

I like the messenger service, however, email for our company usually takes 15 min to receive, very slow, so I was thinking the messenger service would be quicker to contact the entire group for immediate answers, without having to contact everyone individually. Is there a program out there that can do this?

Thanks,
Floydmeister

You are talking about two different things here. Groups are like mailing lists in your address book. You can't add those groups to the BBMessenger.

in order to get one message to more than one recipient in BBMessenger you need to start a conversation, then invite all the others to the conversation.

I think what you'd be better off doing is adding everyone's pins to your address book. Then create a group using their pins in your address book. Then from the Message list, instead of composing an email, compose a pin message and send it to that group. It looks just like an email but is instant.
