Well, as you may know, I am new to this whole Blackberry thing, I've only had my 8830 a few days and I'm starting to find out why it's called a Crackberry!

Anyway, I have been playing around with the profiles. I want to know if there is an option anywhere in the "vibrate" profile (of which I have not edited) to silence all tones from the phone. It's kind of useless to have a vibrate mode if it starts making noise when you start to dial a number or something I noticed that it does not do that in the "off" profile.

Also, is there a way to select what gets considered a "message"? I don't need to know that I missed a call AND got a new voicemail, to me, thats one message, not two. Yeah, I know, not everyone leaves voicemail, but whatever. I also have an email account set up that I don't need every single email notifying me that I have a new one, and I don't want it to show up in the message count. Is this possible?

You can't get rid of the tones during dialing. It's not possible right now.

There are lots of settings under profiles. Each profile is individually customizable so you have several 'already setup' profiles to switch to quickly. You can edit each of them to do whatever you desire. For messages, simply change it to "mute" and no more sound for emails. Play around with it and you'll quickly figure it out.

As for messages adding to the message count, that's what a Blackberry is. It's an email device. Emails push to the device and show as "unread" until you read them. However, you can turn off the "message count" that shows up at the top of the screen by going to Messages >Options >General Options >"Display message count" to "none." and "display new message indicator" to "no."

I'm all for the message count, that is why I got this thing. I need to get my business emails, but I set another account up on it with all my forum emails, junk, etc. That, I don't need to be notified about. I just wanted to disable that one account from it, that's all.
