Dear All,

I am using 7130g in Turkey with BIS via Turkcell GSM provider.
I have updated my blackberry version from 4.1 to 4.2 yesterday. Everything looks and working perfect for me except SMS part.

The problem is SMS character limit is 70 characters but we are using 160 characters in Turkey for every SMS.

In that case, my messages If greater than 70 characters, are sending with 2 parts.(I think GSM provider charge 2 SMS for 1 SMS)

I have tried to both data coding (7 bit and UCS2). both of them same results limited to 70 characters.

Because of this problem I have downgraded my berry to 4.1 now. If you know the solution (I think should be the solution because most of the countries are using 160 chars per SMS.) please let me know, because there are many many improvements on the version 4.2..

Any comment will be very appreciate for me..

I did a search of the Rim KB and the only thing I could find was for the 8707 (Japanese BB) which said Did you pull the battery after setting it to 7-bit?

If none of that works, you might want to take a look at Teleflip. No need to register, just use it. Then you don't have to deal with SMS at all!

many thanks for your concern, I already pull the battery and did a couple of times restart to device but none of them helps.

Are there any 3 party application for send/receive SMS and email? Maybe it could help.

I think this service is not working in Turkey, I have tried a few times and email backs with undelivered message.
