I am looking for voice recorder software for my 8703e (verizon). I can not seem to find any anywhere.

Anyone know of any that I can get for free or a small fee?

Try multiPlay by Dollars5. Just search multiplay in the Aftermarket software forum and/or go to this website:

When/if 4.2 OS comes out for the 8703e it will have a voice note module built in.

It seems strange that there is nothing around for the 8703e now considering it has all the components (speaker and microphone).

I don't think the Dollars 5 will work on this 8703e

Once OS 4.2 comes out for the CDMA BlackBerrys (8700 series) you should have a built in voice recorder. Mine has this capability now that I upgraded to the 4.2 OS.

What's the latest on the 4.2 OS for the 8703e?

Also, is there an update as to which, if any, voice recorders work with the 8703e? I can't keep waiting for the new OS.

Thank you. I just had a chance to read some of the chat on here about that. I haven't been on here in quite a while.

The OS seems a bit buggy, so maybe I will wait. I hope it gets worked out soon. I think it would be silly for me to risk all of the issues (that I don't have time for right now) just to use the VR.

Actually, OS v4.2.1.106 appears to be much more stable on the 8703e than the OS v4.1.0.377 that preceded it! Some of the themes appear to be resource hogs, but IMO the Sprint theme bundled with the OS works well and is pleasing to the eyes after a few "tweaks" (replaced the home screen background, changed font, etc.).

I decided to do the install and, overall, I am happy with the stability. However, now my ToDoMatrix and IdeaMatrix won't load! I get this similar response for each:

Error starting com_rex_ToDoMatrix: Symbol 'UiApplication.pushModalGlobalScreen' not found.

I'm going to contact the company. I need these apps real bad.

Ok, that's been fixed. The folks at RexWireless are AOK.

Now I just have to find this voice recorder.

The latest version of VR+ (2.1.2) from SHAPE Services appears to work well with the 8703e and OS v4.2.1.106. Make sure that you download/install 2.1.2 because v2.1 did not appear to be compatible.
