Default 8830 factory OS?

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched on how to reset my BB back to factory default setting without 3rd party software and additional info. I am awayre of "wipe handheld" and know that deletes and clears all sensative content, but I am wanting to get it back to "out of box new". I have come to the conclusion that I should wipe handheld, and reload OS on to BB. I am having dificulty (Which I know I shouldn't be) finding a link or copy of the OS for my 8830 world edition, CDMA. Anyone able to help me?

Download and Install the latest Deskotp manager from here.

Download and install the latest OS for your device from here.

Then follow the instructions from here.

Edit: ok, just noticed no OS is listed from Alltel for the 8830. What version OS do you have? Go to the sticky for the latest 8830 OS in the 8800 forum and use that one or there is a link in the first post of the sticky that takes you to each previous version. Just find a carrier that uses the same version number.

You can search the CDMA carriers for your version using the following link:

BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/106)

Think it will matter if I use Verizons or US Cellulars software?

No, it doesn't matter. After installing the OS to the PC just be sure and delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader before attempting to install the OS to the handheld.

well, mission complete. We will se eif any difference is noticed. I am still getting the error message when device is rebooted. And I am still having SMS and call history disappearing randomly, must be a setting somewhere.
