Question Google Maps and the 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded Google Maps as an alternative to MSFT Live Search which I was used to. Quick question. When I start up Google Maps it shows the blue dot where I live (Ft Lauderdale, FL). That works fine. But when i search. For instance I searched "Pizza". It gave me 9 locations. One in Indiana, One in California, One in Boston....

I thought it would find the locations nearest to where I am naturally. Isn't that the point?

I think you still have to to search like "Pizza in Boston"....at least that's how I always do it - by including the location.

Ahh, that's what I figured. Not a big deal but a tiny bit disappointing as you would think it would search according to where the GPS says I am. Say I am on the road driving cross country and don't know where I am. Then you are screwed because you have to type the location you are at rather than the unit searching around where you via GPS. Does that make sense?

Please don't open multiple threads about the same subject. I'm closing this one and leaving the other one open since it's in the correct forum.

Google Maps the 8830 and GPS
