Default 7290 keeps restarting

Please Login to Remove!

Earlier today I got a 373 error. I left the battery out for a while and put it back in and it said the battery was too low to do anything so I charged it and it seemed to be working fine. Then I tried to text someone and the screen went all weird and kind of line-y and wouldn't let me send or type or anything.
So I reset it again and I even tried dropping it like I read in another post. But now every time I go to look at a text to reply or try to send one it shuts off. The little red light comes on for a second and it restarts with the hourglass. And it's done it like ten times now.

Is my phone dead or is there something else I can try? I've had it for over two years with no real problems.

Thanks

Edit: Now when it restarts/resets it just does it again almost immediately.

Welcome to the forums,
I'm not sure where you heard to "drop it" to fix it. Not really a great idea for Blackberries. it sounds like it has some kind of hardware problem. Could be as simple as a battery contact or as complicated as a bad component or motherboard. It might just be time for a new BB.

Yeah I think it might be time for a new one. It just started vibrating by itself and I got another error message. 423 this time.

Sounds like a device that got wet...but shorting out somewhere could do it too. Time to go shopping!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Could try to wipe the device and reload the software. Sounds like what my 7230 did. So I replaced it with a 7290 then I found the BBforums. Performed a wipe and reload and it is working to this day
