While I am loading some application to my BB 8800, it got disconnected after the first step(the applications on my phone are removed). Now it shows like a cassette icon 507, and nothing happens, even I tried to download an OS, it won't load, what should I do!!!!
Thank you please help.

507 means no OS loaded on the device. If you have downloaded the OS and installed it to the PC then do the following:

delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Then plug in the device and run Desktop Manager and open Application Loader. It will recognize the device and load the OS.

By the way, I did not backup anything, So I suppose everything on the phone is gone? What about the SD? I guess only the contact on my sim will be left.

If you have no backup then yes, it's all gone unless you sync the BB with Outlook or other programs via the Desktop Manager. SD card contents will be untouched, though, as with Sim Card contacts.

Thanks for your help. It's good to know. I bought this phone a week ago, so haven't got much stuff on it, it is just I spend quite a lot of time on setting it up and personalizing.
Thanks,

Yep...it's a good idea to make periodic backups. Doesn't hurt to do it every couple of days or whenever you think about it.

What would AT&T people do if they do not even have the OS on their computer. It is not available is it? I would guess that AT&T will not be letting any new OS improvements out for a while.
