Default Getting an 8830 Tomorrow!

Please Login to Remove!

I am getting a Sprint 8830 tomorrow. I was wondering if I should update the software and how do I check the current software in the phone? Also, what are the most common problems with this phone that we have all seen? Is the common way just to pull the battery and perform a reset of the phone? Thanks!!!

To check the version of the software you can go to Options > Status and it will be shown there.

Check the following link for the different types of resets: How do I reset my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

I don't have the 8800 so I am not familiar with the common problems. You may want to browse around on the 8800 forum to see. Also, here is a link to the latest 8800 OS with installation instructions: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...2-2-148-a.html

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

Just a note - that link is for 8800 from Verizon. He will be getting an 8830, so chances are he shouldn't install that.
