how is an unlocked at&t 8800 work with tmobile internet plan

im new to this whole thing, im so sorry if i sound like an idiot. but i recieved an 8800 as a gift. but the problem is that its an at&t phone and im using tmobile service. if i get it unlocked, how would the internet service on the phone turn out? would it still work and if so, how is it? thanks.

Once unlocked it'll work just fine. it'll work just like a TMobile 8800. It'll just say AT&T when it boots up.

ok cool. what about this. can i log into mytmobile account and download the upgrade version software for the 8800. im so sorry for these questions.

yes. You can load any carrier's 8800 OS onto any 8800. However, it will always show AT&T on boot up. That can't be changed. Check the sticky threads in the 8800 forum for the latest OS for the 8800. It may or may not be from your carrier but it will work and you'll have all the latest bug fixes for the device.

would i be able to use myfave?

John Clark 08-27-2007 07:31 PM

yes. you will need to install the OS to your computer and make a minor change there in a file and then the myfaves theme and app will load to the device. When you get that far, post back here and someone will help you with it. it's quite simple.

You can use myfaves without the modification but the app and theme won't show up.

GPRS?? i read somewhere that at&t was pullin that, would i be able to have it regardless?

JSanders 08-27-2007 08:23 PM

You will still have GPRS with AT&T, they are not pulling GPRS, your friends are pulling your leg.
