Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

Hello,

I'm occasionally getting the following error when pulling my Sprint 8830 out of the holster:

Uncaught Exception popScreen: UiEngine is null !: net.rim.device.api.ui.UiEngineImplP4543fd4

Anyone else had that?

Thanks!

Never heard of it. Did you try a software reset. Sounds like a software conflict somewhere

Yeah, I've tried soft resets. Sometimes it goes away for days then comes back My third party software includes:

Jivetalk
YahooGo 2.0
Berry411
Google services
Bass assasin
Deer hunter
Curling
Worms
Suduku

That's it.

Do you recall when you began getting the error? Was it after a particular 3rd party install. What apps do you have running when you get the error? Are any 3rd party apps running?

Default Uncaught Exception popScreen: UiEngine is null !:

Complete error: Uncaught Exception popScreen: UiEngine is null !: net.rim.device.api.ui.UiEngineImplP4543fd4
The above error appears when an application is launched.
My understanding is that regardless of which application is making attempt to run, this error appears on certain new models. The error is not application specific. So far users with models 8800, 8300 and 8100 have reported this error. Did anyone hear anything from RIM support team. I hope someone will bring this issue to the attention of RIM escalations engineering team. Resetting the device is not resolving this issue.

If someone already knows the solution to this problem, please email at: [email address]
Thank you

@Truman- What's the model/make/carrier of the device that you are having trouble with?
