My first fun with my 8700C BB (AT&T BIS) was the first week I had it while traveling in Chile (from USA) when we had intermittent Internet (dis) connectivity issues with our T-1 phone line for several days. I got the e-mail that said I was kicked many times and each time after reinstating myself, I would get kicked again; over and over for several days.
Several times since, during power failures, for example, I have known that we had lost connectivity with the server when the "kicked" announcement e mail arrived.
Last week we had our IT guys doing some changes to the server and they rebooted the server and it wouldn't reboot. It took them several hours to sort it out and reestablish service. Both of the other two BB users (one was the GM who was in England-first trip out of the country with his BB which he has only had for 2-3 weeks) were kicked off with the ubiquitous e-mail announcement.
Now, my question is; my BB never kicked me off. When the IT guys got it sorted after about 3 hours, soon my BB sent me the e mails I had missed with no action on my part. I had had to call the GM in England to ask him where the keys to the server were for the IT guys, and was able to help him understand why he had been kicked. I commented to him that I expected to be kicked any minute, but as stated, it never happened.
Anyone have an explanation for that?
