There must be a way to erase all the sms from the 7100 correct? Maybe I am lost since I cannot do a select all and delete. I am sure someone wants to do this....

Inside the messages folder, try pressing <ALT S> to show only SMS messages. Then scroll to the top date, click the wheel and select Delete Prior. That should work.

I feel like a dumbass but I dont hink I have a ALT key on the 7100. I know how to show the SMS only though, let me try the last part again.

Your ALT key is the lower leftmost key on the Blackberry. It is represented by a Grey Up Arrow and White Down Arrow.
