I have version 4.2.2.66 (Platform 3.0.0.45)
I've heard good and bad things about doing software updates(things don't work well, lose contacts and info, etc) just wanted to know if the one I have is the latest and if it's worth upgrading?

Here is the thread about the latest Verizon upgrade. Read through it and decide. It fixes the calendar issues. Honestly, I haven't spent much time reading it since I don't have an 8830.

To me, the most important fix was the "stuck in conference call mode" issue, which could only be reset with a battery pull. I have not had this happen at all since upgrading. I never had the calendar sync issue, but that's perhaps because I'm on BES and I only sync OTA.
