Angry I want to use my 7250 without data plan!

Please Login to Remove!

I have Verizon and got a used 7250 to use instead of my razor. I'm not interested in the data plan. Can I activate the phone only without having to add the data plan to my calling plan? According to Verizon costumer service I can't! But other people on the web say it's possible. Any advise?
Thanks

If it's a Verizon 7250 then you can. If not, Verizon won't let you.

It is more difficult to activate a CDMA BlackBerry without a data plan, but be persistent.

Thanks for your response. I'm still figuring out how I'm going to activate this through Verizon?

Technically, the pay-per-use data plan counts as a data plan. Get the pay-per-use data plan, and ask them to put a data-block on your account.

You need to have a dataplan, that is correct, but the pay-per-use plan counts, and they do have the ability to block all data to a handset.

Hope this helps,
-Adam

Try asking VZW for an ESN swap and don't tell them what you're activating.

Afaik this wont work, because the ESN numbers are coded to specific models. So, as soon as you give them the ESN, their account computers will automatically display the model.

I think this may be your best bet! Or become buddies with someone at a local VZW and get them to do the ESN change for you

Default Response to 7250 without data plan?

I have a 7250 and use it on Sprint without the data plan.
