Default used 8703e has no browser

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I just bought a used 8703e and updated to the latest os 4.1 downloaded from verizon. I deleted the handheld using the desktop manager and reinstalled the os. I do not see any browser anywhere on the phone. It is not activated yet, but I thought the icon would still be on the main page. Is it somewhere I cant see it, or do I have to download it and put it on there? Also, I dont see anywhere to add my private email, yahoo, google, etc?

Any help is appreciated please!

You will not get a browser until you activate a data plan on the account. The ability to add email accounts will be added with the browser when you get a data plan.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I believe you will need to send the service books from the Verizon BIS web site. You may also have to set up the device's PIN and IMEI number.

Thanks guys. I will activate it and see what I get. And for tethering, do I really have to pay the extra 15/month, or can I get away without paying? I wont be using it too much.

Yep, you have to pay. It won't work until you pay.
