Default Wife got new 8700g...questions...

Please Login to Remove!

Hola!

I have 8700g from T-Mobile for over a year now...I just purchased 8700g for my wife so basically both are the same.

I upgraded my wife's 8700g to BB OS 4.2 (exactly like mine too)

In my wife's 8700g...I don't see regular browser in there!! (just T-Zone) and no option to change it!

I installed quick compose (thru desktop manager) but hers wont work, am I missing somethin'?

We both have Yahoo accounts (Yahoo Plus)... mine shows an envelope with Yahoo logo on it while my wife does not!

*sigh* hope you can give us an insight into this.

Thanks in advance!
Thomas

I assume that your wife has a BB data plan on her account? If so, try going to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table >Click the wheel and select "Register Now."

In OS 4.2 there is only one browser icon. When you type in a web address to go to, click the wheel and select "change browser." Do you get a choice of Tzones and Internet Browser?

If not, you may need to call TMo and have them double check the account provisioning.

Edit: In rereading your post it sounds like the service books are not pushing down. Are there service books in the service book list in Options >Advanced Options?

I went to her browser (T-Zone) then browser options...changed option but there's only 1 T-Zone...while mine shows Internet Broswer or T-Zone.

I've sent service book earlier this afternoon...

I will try the service book again and see what happens...right now I'm dead tired and have to get up early for work. thanks again! I'll check this thread tomorrow.

Update: I pulled battery out and reinstered... Yahoo icon shows up now.

Hmmmmm...I don't see the BlackBerry Internet Browsing Service service book. I am comparing mine to yours and that is one that I see missing. That would probably explain why you don't see the Internet Browser.

At this point you will want to contact T-Mobile about the issue. They should be able to resolve the issue. You could also try to delete all the service books listed (except for Provisioning) and then log in to the account and try sending the service books one last time.

I don't see the service book for the browser. It should say Blackberry Internet Browser. Are you sure the browser was actually installed when you did the 4.2 upgrade? Plug it back in and run application loader and make sure that Browser is checked. If that's not it then you need to give TMo a call and see if they can push that browser service book to you.
