Default Screen automatically turns off

Is there any way to set the screen on my 8700 so that it does not automatically turn off?

On my old Blackberry, the backlight would turn off, but the screen would remain on. That allowed you to look at information on the screen without having to touch the device. But on my new 8700, the screen goes pitch black after the backlight turns off, and to see any information on the device I have to touch a key, which is really annoying.

I haven't found a way to do this. I believe this is by design. What model was your old BlackBerry?

What you will do is use your BlackBerry Browser to browse to that location. Then you will be prompted to install the program.

As mentioned on one of the postings already, get BBLite, you'll love it and you'll solve your problem -- all at once. The program is FREE
