Default Missing features on a warranty replaced 8707v

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Am looking for a bit of advice, and from reading through the forums there are a lot of people about who know their sutff.

One of our blackberry users has just had their 8707v replaced by Voda (replacment unit is their usual refurb swap out) and he has mentioned a couple of features that were there on his old one and are not any more.

I've tried looking through various forums and websites to see if i can find any answers, but at the moment not a lot is showing up. Maybe i'm asking the wrong questions.

Would anyone be able to point us in the right direction for setting the following, which used to work on the old (now broken and returned) handset.

The current software version is v4.2.194 if that makes any difference.

- He seems to think there was a "list" style theme available in the default listings, and cannot find it any more, making it easier to scroll and find what he was looking for rather than the chunky Dimension themes, or the Vodafone Today which hides "tasks" within another folder.
If anyone knows what theme he could be on about, is it available for download somewhere?

- Japanese characters no longer show in emails. Where they did before.
Is this in need of an upgrade somewhere? or a different handset/os/language?

Hope the above makes a little sense and someone may know the answers out there

Thanks in advance

I believe the older BlackBerry had the 4.1 OS, instead of the 4.2 that his new one is using. In the 4.1 OS, when bringing up the Application List, it used to be a scroll list of the applications, instead of showing an icon view (rows and columns). Or if he was talking about a theme, the look changed as well with the 4.2 OS.

That sounds like the beastie.

Any way of getting it back to being able to show the application list that you know of?
