Default I upgraded to 4.2 on the 8700g and now have a problem...

Please Login to Remove!

So my device crapped out on me this morning. I tried to install PacMan via DM and when the phone rebooted after the install, it just kept restarting over and over agian every 5-10 seconds. It was a white screen with the hourglass on it.

So I scoured the forums and found out how to reload the OS on it and decided to go with 4.2.1.101 as per the sticky on the 8700 forum.

I finally got it to load onto the OS and it boots up fine, but the problem is that I cannot connect to the network. It keeps searching and eventually times out and goes to 'No Service' status.

I am using my 8700r on the Canadian Rogers Wireless Network.

Any clues?

Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Tony

Default

well, I've since flashed to two other software revisions, 4.1 and my carrier's version of 4.2(they guided me to the RIM web link to download it) and still no luck. i think the transmitter crapped out. My carrier is replacing the unit for me. At least I know I can get 4.2 on here now.

Only thing that sucks is that I haven't made a full backup of my unit in a few months and lost all my data.
