Please Login to Remove!

Afternoon Guys

I am sure there is a specific forum for this (please advise!) but here goes.

I appear unable to open attachments on my 8800 - As an example i downloaded the TelMap option for the Sat-Nav and also the Iberry theme, both of which are built for BB, but i can open the email but not the attachment!

Any help much apprciated!

Hey, Tracking. It's not so clear what kind of attachments you are trying to open. You're trying to open the installation executables attached to an email for those apps? Do you get any kind of error?

If that's the case, to my knowledge you can't open executables. The proper methods would be to do an OTA (over the air) installation through the browser or via desktop manager. Try emailing yourself a jpg picture file and opening it. That should work.

Tha TB: The attachments should be straightforward as they are both from genuine BB sites and designed specifically for my device (that is i ticked the right box 8800)

I will try the jpg option and see what happens.

Thanks

OK. Well if they sent you installation files in an email, the process to install is probably through desktop manager from a PC.

Just sent myself a JPG and again it arrives but there is no option to open the file.

I have not hooked up to the desktop manager do i need to do this as standard as i thought it would work out of the box?

I will set this up now.

Just downloaded the Desktop Manager, but still no change - Regarding the option of "Application Loader" the corrct port is chosen and the phone shows connectivity, but an error appears statinmg that the device and software are not compatable!

Now i am truly stumped.

Default Attachment Issue

What OS are you running on your PC - is it VISTA or XP?
If its Vista then that may explain your error, you need to download the latest DTM from the blackberry site, what version of DTM have you installed on your PC?

Happy Day's

I went to my Vodafone store and they in turn spoke with Customer Service and found that the acount was not set up correctly, so therefore that was why i was unable to open my Attachments.

Thanks for the feedback guy's now i am really in love with my 8800!
