Is there anyway to convery MP3s to Blackberry 8703e format? I tried some but they don't for me and I can't upload the files without it being a .ali or .alx so if havy any tips or just plain advice please post and PM me.
There is no difference in the mp3 format for the BlackBerry 8703e. To get an mp3 on your BB, you have to have it uploaded to a website where you can download it. Emailing the mp3 to yourself doesn't work and I don't think mp3s can be loaded on the BB with DesktopManager.
There are some 3rd party apps that will create ringtones from mp3s on your PC and upload them to a website where you can download them. Or if you are creating the mp3 ringtone yourself, you'd have to upload it to a website where you can download it to your BlackBerry.
If you are trying to add a full song in mp3 format, it could be too large for the BB.

Get AUDACITY - import MP3 - then on the left side of the editor, click on the track name, and split the stereo track into 2 mono tracks - lower the sample rate from 32 bit FP to 16...EXPORT AS MP3, then email the file(s) to yourself on your BB, and your done!
thats how i do it, i've got some ICP, kottonmouth kings, slayer, fear factory, etc. ringtones on my 8703e...its wicked fun
