I have spent about 4 hours reading on this topic before posting, but it's driving me crazy. Hopefully someone else will know of a fix.

Email sent from my blackberry is not in my sent folder. We determined the issue to be the following:

Blackberry needs the folders to be on the same level of the heirarchy as INBOX, which BIS (blackberry internet service) likes. We have our setup with BIS only, as we do not have a BES server.

We use maildir format for storing mail and we have courier IMAP.

Can anyone please help me.

hostingone, on a BIS setup, you will not get mail and messages to sync.
You might look into using BB Redirector, but I am not positive that will do what you want.

Are you referring to your sent folder in the bb or e-mail server who you could view from a pc?

You can set up and AUTO BCC in BIS which will automatically send a copy of any email to a specific address. AFAIK, a copy of the sent message is not stored on the BB.

Thanks very much for the replies and the welcome, as I really appreciate it. The thing is, it used to work when we had mbox as the mail handling format. I would send a message from the BlackBerry and it would show up in my sent mail folder when I would open my computers email client (thunderbird). That is why I loved having this blackberry (1st one). I was just using the BIS server, no redirection, or anything else. I have read that BIS 2.4 version will have the ability to Save Sent items. But Iam not sure when the upgrade will happen for Verizon clients. So I was wondering if there was any workaround. Seems to me CPA's, business people, everyone would want a copy of their email placed in the sent folder, I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

Can you post a link of where you got that quote from the RIM website?

I am on Alltel with an 8830 and every email that I send through my company email address goes into my sent items folder on my outlook at work. We use Kerio Mail Server at work but are getting ready to switch to a Microsoft Exchange server soon.

The BB is my own personal phone, not connected in any way to my work and it's a straight BIS set-up with no redirector, no exchange server or anything. I just entered my work address as an email account on BIS. I just thought that was the way it was supposed to work. It also worked this way with my 8703e before I upgraded a week ago.

Want to be my best friend and see what mail format you use please. Mailbox or maildir?

You'll have to explain to me specifically where I find that info. Is it a setting on the BB, BIS or what?

BIS with Exchange Server allows for Sent to be synced over.... no questions asked, it just works. I know this doesn't help, but FYI for anyone wondering.
