I have an 8700c that I used on desktop redirector at my old job. I now want to use BIS instead for my email. I have activated it through my handheld and received the confirmation email. I also have resent the service books. I am unable to send any emails from my BB and I don't seem to be getting true "push" from my Gmail to my BB.

1. Do I need to "deactivate" the old desktop redirector account from work?

2. When I compose an email, my BB still says "Send Using: Desktop". The only other option is "Send Using: Web Client". Do I need to change it to "Web Client"?

3. Is there some other way to assure my handheld isn't trying to send via my old work email instead of BIS?

I would like to keep the old email on my handheld and not completely wipe it.

Delete the Desktop service books.

Deleting the service books will not affect the e-mail already on the device, though keep in mind unless you have your e-mail settings on keep forever, eventually they will get purged.
