We have some spare BB devices here. We are switching networks, so I have had a go at wiping a spare 7290 of it's o2 software and loading some T-Mobile software.

It looks terrible... see attached image.

No I have not save the image in Black and White, this is the way it looks! If you select an option, they all overlay each other and it is just rubbish.

Have tried to reload software in Desktop Manager, but it has v4.1.0.292 (platform 1.8.0.143) so won't add anything.

What did I do wrong?
Does anyone know the full and proper method for wiping and reloading a device?!

Jadey, you can never get rid of the initial carrier's splash start-up screen. Won't happen.

Try wiping the device with jl_cmder
How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

And then reload the OS you choose.

Thanks, am trying it now, will let you know what happens. Damn pleased I didn't "test" this process with my nice 8100!

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I got that black and white theme when I upgraded OS recently on my 8700. Looked exactly like the image posted. Simply switching to another theme straightened things out.

The black and white theme is what comes up whenever you install a theme and set it as default and then load an OS that doesn't have that theme.

After wiping and reloading same problem - then I switched theme as suggested and it is OK now!
Thanks all
