Default Question about the Status Light

Please Login to Remove!

Sometimes the status light just stops working and I have to reset the phone by turning it on and off, is this normal? Thanks

Status as in the green blinking LED?

It stopping on its own is not normal, unless you are without signal.

Green = Signal present.

I understand that, which is the reason why you pull the battery and reset the BB, right? I don't know what else to tell you, other than maybe reload the OS to the BB.

I have it happen also, perhaps every couple of days. It just stops blinking green but I would imagine it's partially related to BBAlerts leaving the LED in an odd state. Certainly not annoying or serious enough for me to outst my beloved BBAlerts. ;)

Rather than restart the phone though, I turn the indicator off, save, turn it back on, and save... 10 seconds vs. a 3 min bootup hehe.

Edited'

After having read several posts about BBAlerts, it seems that the status light issue is common.

I wonder, is the OP using BBAlerts?

BTW, I kind-of like the idea of BBAlerts. Has the software been updated to include a patch for this issue?
