Exclamation Random Error Message

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, I just picked up an 8830 off of ebay and have Sprint service. The sprint rep did a reset before she activated it yesterday and I have already loaded google maps and mail, bbtracker, opera mini, ramble im, and I did the 2007 calendar update.

Every few hours i'll pick the bb up and hit space to wake it up and an error message will be on the screen: "Uncaught exception: task already scheduled"

What is this, how do i stop it, and if you need more info tell me where to look and what you need to know.

THANKS!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Have you upgraded your OS? Did the Sprint rep completely reformat the device?
You may have some leftover device info left from software the previous owner had installed (was the unit previously used?). If reinstalling the OS doesn't do the trick you may want them to do a device wipe and full reformat.

I have not upgraded my OS, it's running the shipping version which is the same a what you can download from RIM. I'll go to bbfaq and see about doing a wipe refresh or reload to start over (I didn't type in anything yet anyway and all I'll have to do really is resend the service books). Any suggestions appreciated and I"ll let you know how it turns out.

2 things,

1) Uncaught exceptions are usually resolved by reloading the OS. Yours may be corrupt.
2) Take a look at your installed programs and see if there is something there that you didn't install or don't recognize.
Don't necesarily uninstall anything; that may just be a really good reason to do an OS reinstall.

It won't take long and may just do the trick!

I deleted the only beta application that gave me issues itself and we'll see how that goes. There is nothing out of the ordinary yet so we'll see in a few hours.
