| Two questions:
What happens the other way? Delete from handheld reconciles to outlook?
What happens when you select reconcile now?
Have you reset the blackberry?
Do the BES logs list anything about the OTA FM process?

What happens when you select reconcile now? New emails are updated and new updates, deletes, reconcile fine. The occurence seems to be related to a specific dates.
Have you reset the blackberry? Yes
Do the BES logs list anything about the OTA FM process? Negative | | Offline

| So it works properly from this point forward and only orphaned some messages on a particular date?

| re: Grimlin So it works properly from this point forward and only orphaned some messages on a particular date? Correct, it was brought to my attention on last Friday 9/21 where msgs were stuck from 9/19... When, I got back in today there were more leftover from Sunday 9/23. So I don't know what, if anything, the user is doing to create the issue, I am assuming here , but not sure how to recreate the problem to tell say for certain | | Offline

| We had a similar problem and it took me forever to diagnose it. It might not be the same, but might help you narrow it down.
In our case, the persons assistant was moving messages to a second folder outside of the scope of the mailbox and then later copying it back into the mailbox into a different folder. At that point, the message, although it looked the same on the outside, was given a new message ID and was no longer tracked by the BES.

| If you empty the deleted folder on the desktop machine before the device syncs OTA, you will see this behavior. BlackBerry knowledge base on this and other causes: Email message not deleted after email reconciliation.

| It doesn't seem like that is what he is talking about, but moving to a personal folder or any folder not monitored by the BES will orphan them as well.

Grimlin, I think this is what is happening... Thanks for all your help! | | Offline
