Default Having trouble recieving SMS and PIN problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I just got my Blackberry second hand (eBay is a great thing). I have a 8703e with Sprint service. I am having trouble setting up a Blackberry service account. The PIN was already registered, probably by the person I bought it from. Is there a way to either deactivate a service account, reset a pin, or override it in some fashion?

Also, my SMS transmission is-- well, not happening. I can send SMS's, but receive them is a different story. I sent one to myself, and I received it, but then I tried from my friend's phone and had no luck. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Buying a BlackBerry of Ebay can be tricky. Your carrier or the previous user must release the PIN for your use. Check the FAQs site (in my sig) for more details on buying BlackBerrys off Ebay.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I have the same provider as the previous owner. Everything is fine except for the fact that I'm having trouble getting my e-mail situated. I looked through much of the BB FAQ, and I have found that I don't have a Configure e-mail icon, nothing displays under the Messaging Services screen and I probably have to call Sprint about releasing the PIN from the old account.

Should I backup my contacts and wipe my BB clean? Thanks!
