Default Ringer question

Please Login to Remove!

I have my Verizon 8703e with some downloaded ringtones. I have the phone set to "vibrate & tone". The problem is that when a call comes, the phone vibrates three times, plays the ringtone once and goes silent. Is there a way for it to keep playing the ring until the VM picks up?

Yes, go to Profiles, edit, Phone, edit, and change the number of rings.

You can tell it NO vibrate OR virbate and ring OR ring only.

Set it as you like for both IN and OUT of holster.

I have no choice for number of rings. It says "Number of Beeps" but I have that set at 3 and it still rings once.

beeps = rings.

What is your ring tone? Is it lengthy?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Yes, it is a rather lengthy ringtone. Is that why?

Yes. Overall, there is a ringtime before voicemail length imposed by your carrier, normally 30 seconds. However that ringtime before voicemail is routinely set initially at 15 seconds on all new devices (less airtime).

Your ringtone could be 10 seconds, but it is ringing more often on the other parties end.

Read this post to get more ringtime before voicemail.

What is the exact issue, then with ringtones?

If you need Desktop Manager, go here:
BlackBerry Desktop Manager Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ
You need the 4.2 version SP 2, without the Roxio Media software.

what i am getting at is that my os on the device is 4.1.0.33 whatever
and the desktop software is 4.2 hence when i try to use the media manager it is telling me that my device isnt compatible. Verizon doesnt offer 4.2 os software as of yet, and my attempts to find the 4.1 version of the desktop software has been unsuccessful, but wth that link u provided it will be found im sure.
