Default split contacts?

Please Login to Remove!

Not sure if this is possible or not... I have my contacts split into categories in outlook and it transferred to my phone just fine. I just hate having business contacts come up all the time when I am making personal phone calls. Is there a way to filter my contacts list when I am making phone calls so that whenever I type in A (for example)... every single person in the world (basically) that has a name that starts with A shows up? I'd like to be able to turn this filter on and off so that during the day when I am making business calls, my business contacts show up...
Does this make sense...

Makes perfect sense and is very easy. Simply open the menu when you are in contacts, and specify the filter that you want to apply.

while in contacts, click BlackBerry button, then filter, then select category you would like displayed.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

That seems to sum it up! In short yes you can apply a filter to only have business or personal contacts at your whim

Is it possible to have this filter when you aren't in contacts?... so that when I am not in "contacts" it has the same filter...

the filter remains in effect for the entire device. for example, when you go to compose an email message, the "filtered" contacts are the only ones which will appear
