Default 8700G TMobile service problems

I am in an area of LA that does not have good coverage by Tmobile, but once I leave the house I can get a reception. The past month, even as i leave the area, and enter a part of LA that has good to excellent coverage, my phone signal goes to weak and sometimes does not even work. I just spent one hour with the Tmobile tech supt and they cannot figure out the problem. My spouse has the exact same phone and provider and we have tested the reception side by side, and he has been successfull in receiving a good signal at places in LA. Anyone else have similar problems like this? I would like to switch to Verizon because based on my surveys, they seem to have the best reception in the LA area. Only problem is Tmobile will charge a $200.00 cancellation fee.

glnaka3, have you tried a hard reset (pull battery for 30+ seconds) when you are having reception problems? Also, you might look at the OS version you are running and whether an upgrade might be a solution. I'm not the one to advise you on that, but this board is a good place to do the research and get that kind of guidance. Also, what does T-Mobile advise, given your husband doesn't have the problem with his BB?

I get great reception everywhere in LA with my blackberry 8700g on t-mobile, much better than I used to get with a motorola on the Cingular network.

It sounds like your phone may be defective. if you got it from t-mobile, you should ask for a warranty replacement.
