Default Back light problem

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8700C and the backlight does not always come on when I take it out of the holster. It will also go dim after a few seconds but does this on a random basis. I had a 7100 previously and someone on the forums posted an answer that fixed my problem with the 7100 but I can't seem to find the post. I have the backlight set to 2 min. but that does not seem to make any difference. I am running OS 4.2. Can any one help?

It should come on when you remove from the holster. What kind of holster do you have? Does it have the "sleeper magnet" in it?

As far as the backlight dimming it does this automatically based on ambient light. There are settings in screen/keyboard for this. Look for automatic Backlight On/Off.

The back light does come on when I take it out of the holster but it is dim. I have a Fortte leather holster and it does have the sleep magnet. I have the automatic backlight feature set to on but as I said it sometimes comes on very dim and shortly there after in the same light, go to full brightness. I would like for it to stay at full brightness while it is out of the holster.

There are issues with the automatic backlight features. You can turn it off in screen/keyboard. Then it will stay at 100% brightness.
