Default New 8830...

Please Login to Remove!

I had my first 8830 replaced since the GPS stopped working but other than that great phone.. My new 8830 seems to show the hour glass a lot. I have tired resetting the device and everything and when changing from app menu to home screen hour glass, hit the phone key hour glass then phone.. I have 18k free memory and have deleted a lot of junk but am still not done but my last phone had 14k free memory and I never saw the hour glass unless I was doing something intensive... Any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Do you have other APPs running.
Click Alt + ESC key.
Certain Apps will show and will always run. However, make sure your media manager is off

Yep, what are you running in the background. On my 8820 I never see the hour glass unless I reboot the device. Then again I do not have anything running in the background.

Ended up taking the memory card out. Then reformatted it and everything is fine.

Remove anything unnecessary from the device to free up memory. Demo video, unused themes, languages, apps, etc. Anything you can get rid of will speed up the device. Good luck!

Yep, running the setup Wizard at the beggining is no fun when you have a new device but it will remove the unused languages. I removed the demo video/images and got rid on several programs including PTT!
