Default Bridged and Can't Log In To Websites....

Please Login to Remove!

I must be extra stupid today. I am using the Bridge and for the life of me I cannot log onto this site or another that I mod at.

The sites come up and render properly, but for example here at BBF I enter my user name and password press GO and it just loops back to the main page as if I just surfed to the site.

I am on BES, but there have been no restrictions to logging on here or the other site before and I also log on to both with my BB and never had a problem.

Grrrrrr......

Any thoughts?

I have had the same issue, and it only happens with the Bridge Browser. Looks like we will have to wait for a fix to roll out, but with the speed of updates, maybe we won't be waiting too long.

Are you both using the Bridge Browser when doing this, not the regular PB Browser? And is your WiFi connected when you do it?

I want to try and replicate this...out of curiosity.

This only happens with the Bridge Browser, and doesn't matter if the phone is connected via WiFi or cellular data. If I disable the Bridge and use the standard browser on the PlayBook, everything works just fine.

Bridge Browser only. WiFi is NOT on (none in the office here). The issue is only when I try to log in. Otherwise the pages render perfectly, just a bit slow (okay, a lot slow).

As Ian said the regular WiFi Browser works fine when I am using that......

If you change your default settings on the blackberry to use internet browser instead of blackberry browser, does that help?
I have seen users who cant login via a blackberry to sites like continental.com, even though the corporate firewall and BES settings do not block it. Having the users browse that page using the internet browser setting allowed them to log on.

ive been able to replicate this issue! honestly i thought it was just me seeing this on thursday and was going nuts.

ive duplicated this on 9700 non bes activated and no it policy restritions, also doesnt matter if hotspot browser is the default, or if the 9700 is connected to 3G or wlan. doesnt matter if PlayBook is using the 3G tehter or just via bt to the 9700's browser.

i found an article stating attachments sourced from the pb to bridged email will not work via security or the fie systemrestrictions. i feel this maybe related as a hint that you cannot select the "remember me" switch when presented with the logon screen .

this would mean the PlayBook keeps the password not the BB since its emulating the browser from the BB yet it can load sites that have flash using the emulation.

another oddity is that bookmarks do NOT sync both ways using Bridge browser.

Me, too, for what it's worth. Mobile network only. No wifi at the moment. BIS only; no BES. Cannot log in to any website with Bridge browser. In each case get, "ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved...The following error was encountered: Invalid Request..."

No problem with websites until I try to log in.

No problems on the default PlayBook browser. Just the Bridge browser.

The upgrade to OS 1.0.3.1868 and the new Bridge version 1.0.0.83 seems to have resolved my log-on issue here at BBF and my other site. Yeah!

Same here. That's fixed. But now the Bridge browser seems so much slower. Even when the handset is on wifi it is slow.

My understanding is that the bridge browser will always use 'bridged' data and not use wifi. It wouldnt explain why it got slower than before, but I am fairly certain it will never be as fast as the native browser using wifi. Someone can correct me if I am mistaken. I also don't understand why anyone would use the bridge browser over the native browser if they are connected to wifi? Is there any benefit to the bridge browser besides use outside of a wifi network when you only have your cellular data connection?

It will allow access to your Intranet.

I wasn't implying the Bridge Browser accesses wifi directly in the same sense the as the default PlayBook browser. I said, "when the handset is on wifi.". The PlayBook Bridge Browser uses the handset's data connection. If the handset is on wifi, the Bridge Browser should be faster than when the handset is on the mobile network, especially compared to EDGE, which is indeed what I observed before. Now the Bridge Browser is painfully slow no matter which.

Youre right...sorry I missed that. And its a good point about the intranet. I was just clarifying my understanding and maybe getting a better idea what issues you were seeing.

Since the Bridge update, I've found the Bridge browser to be much faster, sometimes almost as fast at the regular browser on wifi.
