Default Android Applications

Please Login to Remove!

Hello there,

I'm confused and a search of the forum has not been able to clear my confusion.

With regards to playing Android Applications on the PlayBook, must they all be side loaded or are there approved apps through AppWorld?

If so, do I need to download an App to first initialize the functionality or is it built in?

I have searched both the forum and a google search and all I could find was information on how to Side Load, however all these seem to be for the Beta versions and using the PB in a Developer/Rooted mode.

Default Re: Android Applications

Android applications do need to be converted from Android format (APK) to PlayBook/BB10 format (BAR) then loaded from App World or "side loade" with the developer tools.

The functionality is built in but you won't see any evidence of that from normal use until you start an Android application. You may not even know before hand that the app came from Android if the App World blurb doesn't tell you.

Have a look at this CrackBerry post.
My other Blackberry is a PlayBook.

Android applications can be sideloaded or loaded through app-world, they are hidden though...
